What's the difference between Grok and Grok Bot?

Grok is xAI's chatbot. Grok Bot is xAI's agent product, in beta since August 2026. A Grok Bot has a cloud computer, signs in to the tools your business runs on and completes multi-step jobs without you watching. The chatbot gives you an answer. The bot does the work and tells you when it's finished.

Do you have an office in Perth?

No. Ential is headquartered in Brisbane and works remote-first with Perth and Western Australian clients. Brisbane runs 2 hours ahead of Perth all year, so your morning meets our late morning and there's plenty of shared working day. Grok Bot runs in xAI's cloud, so no part of the setup needs us on site.

Businesses with a lot of recurring admin and people who are often away from a desk. Mining services and engineering firms with site reports and subcontractor paperwork, trades with booking intake, property managers with maintenance requests and consultancies with weekly client reporting. If the job repeats and has a clear finished state, it's a candidate.

Can a bot keep working while our team is on site?

Yes, and that's the main reason to use it. The bot's computer lives in xAI's cloud, so it keeps working when every laptop in the office is closed. Hand it the weekly report at knock-off and the draft is waiting in the morning. You can check in and approve from the iOS app.

What does Grok Bot cost?

Accepted Answer

There's no standalone price. Access comes with paid xAI plans, including SuperGrok and Business, and with Cursor's paid plans. Bot usage is metered on top and billed after the fact, with no built-in spend cap. Prices are in US dollars, so the Australian bill moves with the exchange rate. We budget it with you before you build.

Can Grok Bot use our job management or field software?

If it runs in a web browser, usually yes, through a connector or by driving the site like a person would. Software installed only on office PCs is out of reach by default, because the bot's computer is in the cloud. We list what your stack uses during the audit and flag the gaps before you commit.

How do we stop a bot making costly mistakes?

Accepted Answer

Start narrow and keep a person on the irreversible steps. Every bot gets an evidence standard, so it must show what it read and where. Anything sent externally, paid for, booked or deleted waits for approval. We run each bot solo and supervised until it beats its job, and only then let it run alone.

Yes. Grok Bot is available in Australia, so WA businesses can sign up through a paid xAI plan such as SuperGrok or Business, or a paid Cursor plan. It's a beta, so expect changes. We haven't seen xAI commit to hosting it in Australia either, so treat the data as offshore and leave sensitive records out of scope.

It's genuinely useful and still in beta. Features change, there's no independent benchmark yet and you can't choose the model. We treat that honestly: narrow jobs, clear approvals and a weekly review of what each bot actually did.
